DSO Monitor: Add a Transformer and Its Lines to a Transformer Station

First of all, you may need to configure and update your RSABT.

To configure and update an RSABT in the Scout platform, follow these steps:

  1. Create a gateway

Access a project on the Scout platform and create a gateway.

  2. Download the configuration file

Download the XML configuration file from the platform.

  3. Access the RSABT configuration web interface

Navigate to the RSABT configuration page.

  4. Validate and update the devices’ firmware version

Go to Configuration > Firmware > Devices and verify that the devices have a firmware version higher than V0203.

It is recommended to update one or two devices at a time to avoid process interruptions. Each device update takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Note: Download the device firmware versions TSCLBT_v2.6.0 o TSCLBT_v3.6.0.

  5. Update the RTU firmware

Go to Configuration > Firmware > RTU and update the RTU firmware version.

During the update, system access will be unavailable for about 5 minutes. Once the update is complete, you will regain access without issues. Note: Download the RTU firmware versions CIR_RSABT_v1.2.24.

  6. Set up time synchronization

Change the IP address to a public one under Configuration > Network > NTP to synchronize the time. You can use Google’s IP address “216.239.35.4.”

  7. Upload the XML configuration file

Navigate to Configuration > XML Configuration > RTU and upload the XML file downloaded from the Scout platform gateway.

  8. Verify the configuration

To confirm the configuration was successful, go to Configuration > RTU Parameters > Tasks and ensure tasks 10 and 11 have been added.

  9. Create Locations to Store Data

In Scout, go to Project > Locations and create a secondary substation.

Once created, add the required transformers and feeders, associating all available devices. Note: If the configuration was done correctly, the RTU and devices POS will be automatically created on the platform once the gateway receives data from the equipment and transfers it to the platform.

After creating your secondary substation, add a transformer from the Hierarchy page and associate it with your RTU. For your transformer, create as many feeders as needed and associate the POS devices to them.
